Hello to you all, I’m 28 years old and work as a Recruitment Consultant. I only started attending SSS meetings around 2 years ago. I have loved it ever since and made some great friends. My Mum – who is also on the committee – is the only little person I’ve ever known. Being a part of SSS and spending time with members has given me a sense of empowerment that I’ve never quite experienced. I’m really excited about the new committee and the enthusiasm shown by everyone at SSS so far.
Hi I’m Paige and I have been on the sss committee now for a few years. I am the youth committee member and aim this year to organise some events for this age group. I am currently studying social work at university which I enjoy. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and socialising with my friends. I am looking forward to the year ahead for SSS.
Hi, I am Marie and I have been given the post of secretary of SSS. I am 55 and was first in my family to have achondroplasia. I have been a member of SSS since 2013 along with my son Sean. I live in South Queensferry and work as a secretary in Edinburgh. Music is my favourite thing and love attending live gigs and folk clubs. I am looking forward to along with the rest of the committee making 2015-2016 another great year for SSS.
Hi I’m Melanie and I have joined the SSS committee this year. I have 3 children (who are now adults) one of which is short statured, so have been a member of SSS for many years. I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. I also enjoy going on holidays. I look forward to working alongside the other committee members and organising events in the future for SSS.
